Park Chae-eun (17, Seomun Girls' High School, Seoul) has become the top in the youth department.
Park Chae-eun won in the youth division on the final day of the "Medi Hill 15th KLPGA Women's Amar Golf Championship" held at Solago Country Club (par 72) Sol-Out and Sol-In courses in Taean, Chungcheongnam-do on the 24th.
The KLPGA President's Cup Women's Amateur Golf Championship, which has been held since 2010 to foster female amateur golfers in Korea, marks its 15th anniversary this year. In particular, since last year, Medi Hill, LNP Cosmetics' mask pack brand, has participated as a co-host, attracting great attention from amateur players as the size and perks of the competition have expanded further.
Park Chae-eun ranked 28th in the preliminary round of Group B, advancing to the finals without difficulties. Park had an interim total of 9-under 135 pars (67-68) through the second round of the finals, elevating her ranking to third. She played flawless play by snatching six birdies without bogey in the final round, and won the "Medi Hill 15th KLPGA Women's Amar Golf Championship" with a total of 15-under 201 pars (67-68-66).
"I'm so happy to win this big competition," Park said. "I tried to stay calm. Technically, I had a good iron shot and putt well when I was in the second shot."
"I'd like to thank Professor Ahn Joo-hwan, Traum coaches, and Bridgestone's best deputy manager," he said, adding, "I'm grateful to my parents and sisters who always support me, and Medihill and KLPGA for preparing a great competition."
Park Chae-eun first visited the golf driving range at her father's recommendation when she was in first grade, and started playing golf in earnest from the fourth grade. She then came to prominence by winning the title in the middle school girls' category at the National Middle and High School Golf Tournament in 2023.
When asked about her style of play, Park said, "I keep fairways stable due to high accuracy of drivers. The biggest weapon is fewer mistakes in tee shots."
As for this year's goal, he said, "I want to continue the spirit of this year's championship and show good performance in other competitions," adding, "My goal is to challenge for the Rookie of the Year award in the long run. I will try to become a player with steady and stable performance like Lee Yewon, who always maintains the top rank in the tour."
In the youth division, Nam Jae-yu (12, Yeonseong Elementary School in Gyeonggi Province) lifted the trophy. Nam Jae-yu, who won the youth division, said, "I was very nervous until the end, but I thought, 'I did it at the end.' I'm really happy," expressing his determination, "Like Lee Ye-won, who has already won three games of the season, and Shin Ji-ae, who has been playing steadily for a long time, I will work hard to become a player who grows step by step without shaking."
Park Chae-eun, the winner of the youth division, received a trophy, certificate of merit, and scholarship of 1.3 million won, and also won an amateur recommendation ticket for the 2025 season "MediHill and Hankook Ilbo Championship" provided by co-host MediHill. Nam Jae-yu, the winner of the youth division, was awarded a trophy and certificate along with a scholarship of 1 million won.
In addition, the top five players in the youth division of the championship were given the privilege of exemption from the KLPGA's practical evaluation. A total of five players, including Park Chae-eun, Ahn Joo-young (18, Cheonan Central High School), Kim Soo-bin (16, Jeju Jeil High School), Lim Soo-min (16, Gyeongbuk Gumi High School), and Park Je-hee (18, Jeonbuk Hamyeol Girls' High School), have been granted exemption from the practical evaluation of quasi-members.
In addition, co-host MediHill drew attention by running a special award for the MediHill Field Mentoring Program, where Choi Hye-yong (35) of MediHill will give field lessons himself, following last year. The honor of this special award, which is given to the top six middle school students who participated in the youth division, was given to Jung Ji-woo (15, Naegok Middle School), Park Dae-eun (15, Gwanggyo Lake Middle School), Jeon Kang-ju (14, Dongyoung Middle School in Chungnam), Seo Chae-young (15, Seo Moon-in (13, Seoul Eunseong Middle School), and Shin Jin-young (14, Seoul Seomun Girls' Middle School).

Meanwhile, KLPGA has been holding the KLPGA-Samcheonri Together Dream Tree Competition since 2015 as well as the KLPGA Presidential Cup Women's Amar Golf Championship to discover and popularize golf prospects, and is contributing to the expansion of the youth golf base by developing various projects such as KLPGA Elite Youth Golf Mentoring, KLPGA Kidz Golf Camp, and Creation of a Youth Golf Environment.
